About the game
A gentle music game set in a forest at dawn. A bird sings a short tune, you play it back on Hazel the hedgehog's wooden flute, and every right answer brings the bird one branch closer. Befriend it, then find it in the treetops with binoculars and sketch it into your field guide.
How to play
- Listen to the bird's little song.
- Play it back on the flute: five coloured holes, low notes on the left, high notes on the right. You can whistle or hum it instead.
- Three good answers and the bird trusts you. It flies into the leaves.
- Drag the binoculars to find it, turn the focus until it's sharp, and sketch it.
The first level shows you what to do as you go, so there's nothing to read before you start.
Play together
Duet: one player makes up a bird call, the other hears it with no colours and has three tries to play it back. Then swap.
Is it real?
Real birdwatchers learn birds by their songs first, because you usually hear a bird long before you see it. Each bird in the game comes with a true fact for your field guide.
